Full of health-boosting antioxidants, the Indigo Rose tomato is an unusual but beautiful Indeterminate variety to grow. Fast and vigorous, you won’t be short of these fruits by the end of the growing season. Naturally crossbred from tomatoes found in Peru, these early blight resistant tomatoes have a sweet taste with hints of plum with indigo shades on the outside and a strong red inside. Although Indigo Rose is produced by crossing cultivated tomatoes with wild species, it is open-pollinated and will breed true from its own seed. This makes it closer to an heirloom variety than a traditional hybrid. Due to their fairly high brix rating of sweetness, these are good all-rounders. Slightly bigger than your average cherry tomato too.
How best to use Indigo Rose Tomatoes?
Perfect on the BBQ and grill or how about some homemade purple ketchup?
Why Choose So Sow Garden Grow Kits?
Here at SoSowGarden I grow and source the best quality seeds. I only harvest the fruits when they are at their most ripe, this ensures the seeds you'll have will be at their strongest. For the quickest germination results, sow seeds within the first year of purchase. There are hundreds of quick germination techniques out there, and a successful common rule for seeds with a hard husk is to soak them for 6-12 hours before planting. Chilli, Pumpkin, Jeera & Sesame are examples of these kind of seeds that need that little soak! I'm always here to help you along the way, so do drop me a message and I'll give advice where possible.
All paper used is FSC sourced and all cardboard is from recycled sources. The only plastic used is the bags for the soil mix and the seeds. There are plenty of uses for these bags when using your grow kit. Use them as extra pots, as a mini greenhouse, to isolate cross pollinated flowers and of course to keep the seeds from your next harvest!
All grow kits are designed and handmade in the UK by me.

Seed germination takes time, so don't panic! If in winter months, please don't expect fruitful results. The best time to sow seeds in western Europe for plants like this is February/early spring. They can germinate in winter if indoors, but growth rate will be very slow for the obvious fact that it's winter.
